Hungarian third oldest zoo (just three months younger than the zoo in Debrecen). In last years the zoo undergone a tremendous changes in the form of successive complete reconstruction. Todays zoo consists of two separate areas (distant about 200-300 m). The main (and original) area is in a beautiful Fejes Valley, a new part is on a Gulya Hill. In the original part, there is Terrarium with children's world, house of big cats, enclosures and exhibition of bears, wolves, otters, monkeys (eg giant enclosure of Geladas), tapirs, flamingos, several ungulates etc., aviaries of birds and lemurs. In the new part there is a giant Chimpanzee house, children zoo and the African savannah with new houses of rhinos and giraffes.
