EAZA

European Association of Zoos and Aquaria was founded 1988 as ECAZA (European Community Association of Zoos and Aquaria), then with 18 members from 8 countries. In 1992, it was transformed into EAZA in Stuttgart. It is based in Amsterdam and associates more than 300 zoological gardens and aquariums of Europe Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzeg, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, , North Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and  the United Kingdom), but also from several other countries (Armenia, French Guina, Georgia, Guadeloupe, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Martinique, New Zaeland, Taiwan, Turkey, Qatar, UAE etc.) and around 100 associate and firm members (also from the USA and the other countries of South America and Asia).
